Recycle informationLe Passé
Do you remember that in Unit 4, we began to learn the passé composé in French? Let's review here.

The passé composé is the past tense, composed of two parts. Do you remember which two parts?

So, let's review forming the past participles for regular verbs in French.

Regular -er verbs like travailler
arrow travaillé
Regular -ir verbs like finir
arrow fini
Regular -re verbs like vendre
arrow vendu

These are the patterns for regular verbs. We learned some irregular past participles in Unit 4. Do you remember those?

être
arrow été
faire
arrow fait
mettre
arrow mis
avoir
arrow eu
voir
arrow vu

We still use the regular form of "avoir", but instead of forming the past participle as the regular verbs do, these have an irregular past participle.
