Much is known about the physiological and physical health benefits of exercise. Participating in sports can positively influence anxiety, depression, self-esteem, emotions, and mood. These benefits all point in the direction of sports, and good sports nutrition, as having a “stress-buffering” potential in a person’s health and wellness.
Sports are a way of enhancing the body’s engine, of awakening the body and allowing it to engage properly. Increased activity and being well nourished work mutually together. The benefits of regular physical activity are numerous. There’s something to be said for feeling your body work at its peak. An active lifestyle also exposes you to social groups and improves mood and energy level. With today’s availability to good sources of nutrition, and wide variety of activities from which to choose, achieving wellness through sports is available to everyone!
