Fitness and Physical Activity In Wellness: Introduction
This section will focus on a variety of topics relating wellness to sports nutrition and increased activity. We will discuss the different ways energy is burned in our body, both aerobic and anaerobic, while enduring exercise. The major components of physical fitness will be expanded upon, such as strength training and endurance activities. We will shed light on the importance of flexibility in physical fitness, as well as how regular exercise can improve or prevent chronic disease. Lastly, we will take a closer look at changes in protein and carbohydrate needs in the athlete’s diet.
