Body Response and Nutrition Changes in Stress: Introduction

The many forms of stress takes its toll on the body, affecting changes in how well our bodies are able to function. This section will discuss how stress can change the metabolism of the nutrients in our body and how the body responds to these metabolic changes. The three stages of stress: alarm, resistance, and exhaustion will be outlined, and the potential harm that can come if the stages progress for longer periods. In an effort to cope with and adapt to the various stressors in our environment, this section will highlight ways in which stress can be managed.
