Tor!
Just as we have nicknames for a football (e.g., "pigskin"), Germans have nicknames for a soccer ball. Among other things, it's called a "Kartoffel," (potato). You might hear fans yelling, "Hau' rein die Kartoffel," which means "get a goal." When the team does score a goal, the fans yell "Tor!" Just for fun, you might want to be able to cheer for your own teams in German. Here are some expressions which might be used in those situations.
Können wir verliern? Nein! |
Can we lose? No!! |
Werden wir gewinnen? Jaaa!!!! |
Can we win? Yes!!! |
