Introduction

Willkommen! Das Thema für Lektion 9 ist "Die Freizeit".

Grimm Brothers' animal statue

Do you know the story of "Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten?" You will see a lot of these music-loving characters from the Grimm Brothers' famous fairy tale if you travel to Bremen, one of the two city-states located in northern Germany.

As you learn more about popular freetime activities in Unit 9, you will also have the opportunity to explore more of Germany's beautiful northern cities. Viel Spaß!

Lektion Neun

Gratuliere wieder! Congratulations again. You now know how to say even more things that you didn't know prior to this course. You must keep in mind that fluency in German (or any foreign language) does not happen over night. It is achieved the more you practice and seek ways to use your new skills.

In Die Freizeit you will:

  • talk about sports and leisure time activities in the German-speaking world
  • learn the prepositions that are always followed by dative case
  • learn the accusative and dative personal pronouns
  • learn additional cognate patterns

As you work, keep in mind the symbols that will help you to remember what it is you are going to be doing throughout the course. If you have forgotten those, you can look back at them to keep them in mind.
