CultureL'année Scolaire
What is your school year like? You probably begin classes around the end of August or beginning of September and go until the end of May or into June, right? Though this varies from country to country, school can go from September until early July. In France, students have more time off during the school year than you do. They have a two-week fall break, two weeks for Christmas, two weeks in February, and two weeks in April. France is divided into three regions. The fall, winter and spring breaks are off-set to prevent traffic jams of people leaving the big cities to go somewhere on vacation.

Students begin school each year on the day that is called la rentrée--the first day back to school each fall.
