The Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) invites you to participate in our popular monthly Virtual Field Trips. Alabama has been a trailblazer in using technology for the purpose of advancing education. Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, and Students Statewide (ACCESS), Alabama Learning Exchange (ALEX), Alabama Technology in Motion (ATiM), and e-Learning for Educators are all strong tools used for the advancement of digital learning, in addition to the expansive ways technology is used in the classroom.
The flyer for September Virtual Field Trips is available at bit.ly/ALVFTSep26 .
Teachers may sign up for their classes to attend on the form available at bit.ly/ALVFTSepRegister .
We will continue to use the ZOOM format to broadcast our Virtual Field Trips. Create a free account and download the ZOOM app from the Apple Store or Google Play to your computer. Each session has an individual Meeting ID and a Passcode, so that we can avoid issues with others trying to disrupt the session. Check with your technology coordinator to see what options you might have to display the conference on a TV or big screen. You may need a stand-alone mic if your computer does not have one. If you’d like to do any testing, you may contact the Alabama Supercomputer Help Desk at 800-338-8320.
We invite you to visit the Alabama Virtual Field Trip website at Educational Technology - Virtual Field Trips for current month offerings, updates, sign-up link, additional sessions, video archives, and reporting attendance. If you have questions, please contact Nuncy Rembert (nrembert@alsde.edu).
