Section Three - Part A Charlottenburg Schloss (palace) was constructed by the architect Arnold Nering commissioned by Sophie Charlotte, the wife of Friedrich III, Elector of Brandenburg. After Friedrich's coronation in 1701 as King Friedrich I of Prussia and Charlotte his Queen, the palace, which was initially conceived as a Sommerhaus. It was expanded by the architect Eosander von Göthe into a magnificent building Inside the Charlottenburg Palace is the Bernsteinzimmer (amber room), a room with its wall panels completely covered in exquisite amber mosaic, and was described as "the eighth wonder of the world." It was designed by the architect and builder Andreas Schlüter. Charlottenburg Palace has been used to house the President, while Bellevue Palace was being renovated. It is currently a museum of art and history. Willkommen! You are doing so well! You should be remembering to repeat German as much as you can when you hear German in the course and it is also imperative that you spend time outside of class studying your German. Flash Card Activity One Das Projekt In Unit Six, you are going to prepare a project about your own home. You will describe in detail at least five rooms in your house in a photo essay. You will write at least six sentences about each room that you describe and you need to include a picture--this does not have to be a picture of your actual home but it should be representative of your written description. Keep in mind the following when you are doing this project: Five rooms Six sentences about each room Picture that matches written description Talk about the furniture in each room and describe it as you are able Talk about what you do in these rooms of your home. You may present this either in a Word document or in power point. There will be four deadlines for this project: Ideas for project        (5 points) Outline                     (5 points) Rough Draft              (5 points) Final project              (20 points) The fourth deadline is due now. Sprechaufgabe: After you have practiced the Zungenbrecher and feel comfortable with the pronunciation, record it for your teacher. 10 Punkte Diskutieren wir: Wie hilfst du zu Hause?
