Le Projet
Your project for this unit is going to be to make a photo essay about the daily routine. You may use pictures of yourself or cartoon pictures you find in clipart. You may make it in an essay format or you may use a program such as power point to make slides for the different activities in your day. Though the project is not due until the end of the unit, you will want to begin to work on the project now as there are four deadlines for the project.

You need a total of 15 activities that you do in a day's time. Compose your sentences carefully using correct French that you have learned in this course. Do not rely on dictionaries or internet translators to do this project. Your project needs to be narrated also. The 15 activity sentences must also be recorded and attached.

  • Part 1: Send in your idea for this project to your teacher for approval. How are you going to do the project, brainstorming, etc. (5 points)
  • Part 2: A rough draft of your essay will be due for your teacher's approval. (5 points)
  • Part 3: A rough draft of the entire project will be due. (5 points)
  • Part 4: The project will be due. (25 points)

This project is worth 40 points. Part 1 is due now.

Provence
Nice

France is divided into 22 regions. Each region has its own style and flavor, making it unique from the others, even though they are all part of France. Provence, in Southeastern France, along the Mediterranean, has been inhabited by many different groups in the past. Before the arrival of the Greeks and Romans, the Celts and Ligurians settled in Provence. In about 600 B.C., the Phoenicians established the Greek settlement of Massalia, which is present-day Marseilles. The Greeks are very significant to French history as they are the ones that introduced the grape vine to the region. The city of Nice was an outpost of Massalia and came under pirate attack in 181 B.C. Rome came to the rescue at that time and thus began the Roman domination of the south of France. The picture above is along the coast at Nice.
