Introduction

Bienvenue à Les Activités! Unité 9
Centre Pompidou

One entertaining activity that you might like to do when you are in Paris is to visit the Centre Pompidou, pictured above. The Centre Pompidou was commissioned by former president of France, Georges Pompidou, and is an exhibition hall, gallery, library--a place for all kinds of activities. Many people come to the Centre Pompidou and are entertained by musicians, jugglers, acrobats and pantomimes outdoors. Still, more activity waits for the person who decides to go on inside.

Unité Neuf
Félicitations à nouveau! Congratulations again. You now know how to say many things that you didn't know prior to this course. You must keep in mind that fluency in French (or any foreign language) does not happen over night. It may seem to be a very slow process to you but it is one that is achieved the more you practice and seek ways to use your new skills.

In Les Activités you will:

  1. talk about sports and leisure time activities in the French-speaking world
  2. learn how to talk about what you like to do
  3. learn the verb "jouer"
  4. learn what activities you might be able to do in the French-speaking world
  5. learn to talk about what games you like to play
  6. learn to talk about how frequently you do activities
  7. learn the stress pronouns and additional prepositions to use them with
  8. learn additional cognate patterns

As you work, keep in mind the symbols that will help you to remember what it is you are going to be doing throughout the course. If you have forgotten those, you can look back at them to keep them in mind.
