Key ConceptEn haut ou en bas?
In order to talk about our houses, we might want to say other things about them. You might want to talk about "upstairs" or "downstairs."

Cet homme descend l'escalier. Cet homme va en bas.Going down

Going upCet homme monte l'escalier. Il va en haut.

The expressions:

are used to Writing Practicetalk about going up or down the stairs. If you want to say that something is "upstairs" or "downstairs," you could simply say that it's "en haut" or "en bas." Imagine your house has two stories (or perhaps it does). Say whether these rooms are upstairs or downstairs. A response is given when you click on the question.
