Navigating the Course

Navigating the Course

This course has two navigation systems. One takes you through all the instructional content of the course, and the other enables you to hand in assignments, take part in discussions, and take exams. Look at the picture below to see how it works.

Unit Name: The large buttons open the units. Click on it to begin working on it.

Unit Navigation: The links at the top of each unit lead you to each of the sections and parts of each section of the unit. The first page of each unit is an introduction to the unit and describes what you will learn in it. Follow the rest of the links to find all the lessons and descriptions of assignments.

Left Hand Navigation: The left hand navigation bar repeats the links to the main sections, and it also provides the means to do the required activities. These activities include

  • Discussion Areas: When you are instructed to take part in a discussion, you will find it here.
  • Assignment Drop Boxes: Whenever you are required to hand in an assignment, it is repeated here as well as in the unit. To hand it in, go to the drop box area at the top of the page.
  • Quizzes and Exams: All graded quizzes and exams are found only in the left hand navigation bar. Don't start an exam until you are ready and have enough time to complete it! Unless the teacher has allowed multiple attempts, you will not be allowed back into a test once you have left it.
