Section One - Part D Berggipfel in den Alpen Throughout Germany, there are forests and mountains that are associated with mythical or legendary figures. One of these mountains, the Watzmann in the German Alps, is such a place. Das Mädchen hat Halsschmerzen. "Schmerzen" is the word we use to talk about what hurts us. This is the way to say we have an ache or pain. Ich habe Zahnschmerzen.-- I have a toothache.
