Introduction

Willkommen! Das Thema für Lektion Vier ist "Der Körper".
Ski accident

Fährst du Ski? Ja? If you do, you might sometimes get hurt, like the woman in the picture who has been skiing. In Unit Four, we are going to learn to talk about body parts, what we do with the different parts of our bodies and what happens when we might have to visit a doctor or clinic because we are sick or injured.

Lektion Vier
Herzlichen Glückwunsch! In Unit Four, we are going to learn to talk about our bodies and about the things that sometimes hurt us. You must keep in mind that fluency in German (or any foreign language) does not happen overnight. It may seem to be a very slow process to you but it is one that is achieved the more you practice and seek ways to use your new skills.

In Der Körper you will:

  1. talk about the body
  2. talk about what you do with different body parts
  3. talk about a doctor's visit
  4. talk about various illnesses
  5. learn indirect object pronouns
  6. begin to learn the Perfekt (a past tense) verb forms
  7. learn about Thuringia, one of the 16 German states.

As you work, keep in mind the symbols that will help you to remember what it is you are going to be doing throughout the course. If you have forgotten those, you can look back at them to keep them in mind.

You should keep in mind that during the course of this unit, Der Körper, you should spend time doing the following daily:

  1. Vocabulary activities, drilling vocabulary (flashcards), at least 15 minutes daily.
  2. At this point you should have developed some tools to help yourself learn the German language when you are not online working. You should either take notes to study later or make lists of vocabulary that you can study and even teach someone else.
