Los verbos irregulares, imperativos

This is a list of the most common irregular verbs in the familiar form. You can see similarities between them and their infinitives. Learn them. ¡Apréndelos!

These are the familiar imperatives--to tell a friend what to do.

We talked above about the familiar forms of these irregular verbs. Fortunately, the Ud., Uds., and nosotros forms follow a relatively simple pattern.

Form the "yo" form of the verb in the regular present tense.

Drop the final -o.

This is the stem you will use to form the imperative forms of the verb.

• If the verb is an -ar verb, the forms of the imperative will end in -e, -en, -emos.
• If the verb is an -er/-ir verb, the forms of the imperative will end in -a, -an, -amos.
• Tener is an -er verb. Using it as an example:
