The city of Lüneburg is known as a Luftkurort. That means that the area is known for its pure air quality and pleasant climate. Unlike a typical Kurort, which has clinics and other special facilities, a Luftkurort draws persons who mostly just need to heal or rest and take advantage of what Mother Nature herself has provided.
