Section One - Part A
Regensburg, Bayern
In the present-day city of Regensburg, Germany, in the region of Upper Palatinate, we can see that the Romans marked their territory here in the past. Castra Regina, as the city was called in Roman times, is situated on the northernmost point of the Danube river. It was utilized as a fortress city from the 2nd century to the 5th century. This gate, the Porta Praetoria, stands in Regensburg making the town's history part of their present.
