La Tunisie
Tunisia

Many tourists go to Tunisia for its long Mediterranean coastline - for the sun, the beach and the sea. But, the uniqueness of the country lies in its interior - the medieval towns, the Roman ruins, the architecture, the sand dunes and luxurious oases.

The country has had a long history of "visitors" from the Phoenicians in the 8th century B.C to the Romans 150 years B.C. to the Vandales 500 years later. The Phoenicians founded the city of Carthage that ruled North Africa, Sicily, Sardinia and many regions of Spain until the Roman invasion.

WRiting PracticeÉcrivons
Some time ago, we learned how to say what "we are going to do." Do you remember this construction? We use the verb aller followed by an infinitive. Regarde:

Ma famille va voyager.

Je vais acheter le billet.

Negation goes around the conjugated form of aller:

Ma famille ne va pas voyager.

Je ne vais pas acheter le billet.

Remember that if there is an object or reflexive pronoun, the pronoun will go between the verbs. The pronoun is actually related to the action verb, not aller, which only indicates time.

Je vais m'amuser.

Nous allons nous amuser.

Write down the sentences that you see here. Then write them as if you (or the people mentioned) were going to do the things in the near future. Click on the first sentence to see if you are correct.

Listen to this just for fun:

pastry chef rug maker

A pastry chef who was making pasteries at a rug maker who was making rugs, said one day to the rug maker: is it better to make pastries at the home of a rug maker that is making rugs or to make rugs at the home of a pastry chef that is making pasteries?

OK, now your turn. This one's a bit shorter and easier. Listen to as many times as you need to.
