Task #1
In this lesson, we learned about static, ballistic, dynamic, and PNF stretches. Go to the 2.02 Stretching Discussion and answer the following questions:
- Explain the importance of stretching as part of your workout routine. Think about why you personally need to stretch.
- Which stretches do you prefer? Why?
- Post a picture of one of your preferred stretches. It can be a picture of you doing the stretch or a picture of the stretch from the lesson.
Read through your classmates' posts. Reply to one or two classmates, especially if they have a reason for stretching that you think is interesting or if they mention a stretch you think would be beneficial for you.
Then, download and complete 2.02 Stretching Discussion Summary.
Submit your completed work to the 2.02 Stretching Discussion Summary Dropbox.
Task #2
Go to the Quizzes area and complete the 2.02 Types of Stretching Exercise. You may use your notes as needed.
Task #3
You will complete this workout two times.
Complete the following multi-part workout.
- Make sure that your total workout time is 45 minutes. This includes 10 minutes of warm-up with the Dynamic Routine followed by 30 minutes of jogging followed by 5 minutes of cooldown walking to lower your heart rate.
- Warm-Up: 10 minutes (Dynamic Routine)
- Jog: 30 minutes of continuous jogging
- Cooldown: Slow walk for 5 minutes
You will complete this workout two times.
Download and complete 2.02 Activity Log.
You will record the following information:
- What time did you exercise?
- How far did you walk and/or jog?
- What was your heart rate and were you in your heart rate zone?
- What dynamic exercises did you choose?
- How did you feel after completing the dynamic and jogging exercises?
You will also answer some questions concerning your feelings about your workouts.
Submit your completed work to the 2.02 Activity Log Dropbox.
