Girl reading travel brochure

Now, let's imagine that you got the job of your dreams!  You have been working for 4 days now and you just received your first paycheck – plus – you have tomorrow off!  How exciting!  You are in New York City, with the day off and some money to spend.

You have six choices of places in the city that you can visit for the day.  Your assignment is to use a search engine to take a virtual field trip of ONE of the following places.  Complete the document below about the ONE place from the list below that you choose to visit.

Once you have selected your destination, complete the research worksheet.

Now, using the information you have gathered, create a travel brochure about this attraction that will convince others to visit the place you have chosen.   You will create your travel brochure in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, or Microsoft Publisher.

Your travel brochure should contain the following components:

  • a title
  • 3 pictures
  • descriptive paragraph that lists the facts you researched
  • a persuasive sentence that will make the visitor want to visit your attraction

You should include your three favorite pictures, the interesting facts you have found, and close with a persuasive sentence that will motivate the reader to visit the attraction that you researched.  Remember, use persuasive language to try and attract visitors to this particular tourist site.

View the sample travel brochure that you can use as a template for your own travel brochure. When you are finished, submit your work to the 1.02 Travel Brochure Dropbox.
