Job Application

Now that you have arrived in this big city, we must find a job.  There are three jobs that you qualify for as a summer employee.  Which of these three jobs would you like to apply for?

Toy Store

Work at FAO Schwartz as a toy demonstrator

Your job is to walk around the toy store, assisting customers and demonstrating the toys for the children and parents.  You must:

  • have good communication skills
  • be curious
  • be able to demonstrate the toys without damaging the items
  • be a generally persuasive person to help the families make their choices about their purchases

(Note: This employer does not allow tattoos or piercings to show.)
Baseball Field

Work at Yankee Stadium as a soda vendor

Your job will be to walk up and down the stadium as a soda vendor.  You must be in good physical condition and be willing to work in all types of weather.  You must have a clear understanding of basic math skills so that you can accurately make change for the customers.
Coffee Shop

Work at the Starbucks counter

Your job is to meet and greet customers as they walk into the shop.  You are to accurately take their orders and process their payment as their orders become available.  You must:

  • have good communication skills
  • be able to talk to all types of people
  • present yourself in a clean and respectable way
