Kochrezept

After all of this studying, aren't you getting hungry? How about making a Kartoffelsalat?

Kartoffelsalat is a basic staple to the German diet, and is even popular in America. There are many different varieties, but here is a basic German potato salad recipe. Go ahead! Try it!

KartoffelsalatIngredients:

4-5 large potatoes, peeled, boiled and drained

2 medium onions, diced

3 Tablespoons each: dill; parsley; vegetable oil; vinegar

1/2 teaspoon salt; pepper to taste

1 teaspoon sugar

6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled (optional)

Cut the potatoes into slices after cooking and toss with all ingredients except oil, sugar and vinegar. Heat the last ingredients until the sugar is dissolved, then pour into mixture and toss. If desired, add bacon crumbles.

Makes about six servings

Enjoy!
