Let's learn to ask what someone's name is in German. See if you recognize any of the Vokabeln below and then check to see if you are correct.

Practice asking someone's name and responding.

Imagine that you see the following students in your new class. Ask them their name and then respond as if you were that person--as if this were a real conversation. The first one is done for you.

--Ich heiße Astrid, und du?

Talking about where you're from
In order to talk about where we are from, we're going to say "Ich komme aus...". To ask the question, we are going to say " Woher kommst du?"
