The German Alphabet

Let's learn how we can read things in German by learning the German alphabet and practicing pronouncing things in German.

Remember that you can go back and practice the alphabet any time you need to, and you should be encouraged to do just that. it will help you to become a very good German speaker!

The vowel sounds in German are much different than in English. The additional vowels are ä, ö, and ü. There is also the additional ß (ess-tset) which is basically "ss", but is only used in specific situations.
