Québec
In this semester, you are going to prepare a project about a specific topic for each unit. The project will be done in phases throughout the unit with several deadlines in order to help you stay focused and organized. In this unit, your research project is going to be about Québec. You will include the following information about Québec:
- Québec's province and capital city.
- Geographical make-up of the area.
- How many people live there.
- What the people there do for recreation.
- What the people do there for a living, in general.
- Some basics about the current government of Québec.
- You need to have an essay in English of at least 200 words.
- You are to find some pictures of either typical or tourist attractions in Québec and make a picture essay complete with captions about what you find. You need to find at least 5 pictures that are representative of different aspects of Québec people or life. You may include one person in your picture essay.
There are four deadlines for the project:
- Deadline 1: Your brainstorming and ideas for the project (5 points)
- Deadline 2: Your outline (5 points)
- Deadline 3: Your rough draft (5 points)
- Deadline 4: Final project due. (25 points)
 The third deadline is due now.

Mon village n'est pas très grand. Il n'y a pas beaucoup
de magasins mais il y a un grand supermarché. Le supermarché
est près d'où j'habite. Il y a une piscine mais elle est
très loin de ma maison. Je dois marcher beaucoup pour aller à
la piscine. La piscine est dans le parc. Il y a deux banques dans mon
village. Une banque est à côté du musée et
à droite de la poste. L'autre banque est à gauche de la
pharmacie.
Il y a une école loin du centre ville. Il n'y a pas
de centre commercial parce que mon village est petit. J'aime beaucoup
mon village parce qu'il est petit. J'aime faire des promenades et j'aime
faire de la bicyclette. Je peux faire ces activités dans mon
village parce qu'il n'y a pas beaucoup de circulation. Il n'y a pas
de grandes rues et il y a juste un feu rouge.

Go to the discussion area and talk about your own town or city. You may
use the above narrative as a model, but do your own work using what you
have learned in this town. Mention at least six places there are in your
town and then where they are in relation to other places in your town. This
assignment is worth 12 points.
