Breakfast is only the first meal of the day! The main meal of the
day in French-speaking countries is called "le déjeuner."
This meal is generally eaten between 12 and 1:00 in the afternoon. In
your research about what foods are commonly eaten in different French-speaking
countries, you will find specific foods that are eaten in specific countries.
Here, we will just talk about general things that might be eaten for "le
déjeuner."
Most of these in this category form the items known as "
les plats principaux" or main dish items.
Also commonly eaten for "
le déjeuner" as well as at other times of the day are "les fruits."
And of course, every good meal is followed by "le dessert." These are some commonly eaten desserts.
