As the human resource manager in charge of hiring, you will prepare an employment brochure to be given to new employees. You should inform the new employees about the expectations you (and the other company officials) have for the employees. You should also inform them about legal issues and laws that relate to working. Submit your work to Unit 6 Employee Manual Dropbox when complete.
Requirements:
- Use Publisher brochure template. If unfamiliar with the program, go to the Microsoft website and read about how to do this.

Section 1: Work Ethics (5 pts each—50 total)
- Include all of these words. (You might do it in the form of rules. For example: Punctuality—All employees should be at work 10 minutes before their shift begins.)
- Punctuality

- Quality of work
- Cooperation with employer and other employees
- Confidentiality
- Honesty
- Safety
- Loyalty
- Good judgment (problem solve before asking the boss)
- Enthusiasm

- Section 2: Legal Issues (10 pts per section—50 total)

OSHA—List safety rules to satisfy OSHA requirements. (You might look at the OSHA website.)

EPA—List rules about how to protect the environment and how to be prudent with resources. Check their website for help. (For example: Recycle paper and cartridges whenever possible, etc.)

ADA—List rules about informing the administration about disabilities. Remember, the employer is only responsible for accommodations if he/she KNOWS about the problem.

Sexual harassment—List rules about what is considered harassment. Again, check the EEOC website. (List improper behavior that would violate sexual harassment guidelines.)

State and local laws—List Child Labor laws on work permits, hours that 14-15 year olds and 16-18 year olds may work, where 14-15 year olds may work, and where 16-18 year olds may work.

Include at least three "appropriate" graphics. (5 pts each—15 total)

Include an EEOC statement which includes the groups they protect listed on their website. For example, "We do not discriminate against . . ." (10 pts)

Include your name and school, period/block, and date on the center back. (5 pts)
