Following successful completion of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Describe the significance of the major battles of the Pacific theater including Midway, Okinawa, Iwo Jima, and the Baatan Death March.
- Identify the strategies used by the U.S. and Japanese forces during the war in the Pacific.
- Locate the major battles of the Pacific front on a map.
- Discuss the decision by the United States to drop two atomic bombs on Japan.
