The détente forged with the Soviet Union and China during the Nixon administration was not without difficulty. For this task, discuss the relationship between the U.S. and one of these countries through the construction of a two voice poem. The poem must include the following information:

• Two Voices: One "voice" must be the United States; the other may be the Soviet Union or China
• The poem must reflect at least 2 areas of tension that existed between the nations during the 1970s.
• The poem should conclude with the détente that was reached during the Nixon administration.
• The poem ought to include at least 10 rows.
