Introduction
Do you see yourself in a particular way? What are your best qualities? Take the personality test to find out what your personality says about your identity.
How you perceive yourself or think of yourself affects you in all aspects of life; it even affects how others see you. If you are confident that you can achieve a goal, there are endless possibilities waiting for you. The same is true with your reading skills. Do you see yourself as an effective reader now that you are almost finished with this course? Confidence is tied closely to success; therefore, it is important that you begin to believe that you can read effectively. Reading opens doors to new adventures, better opportunities, and brighter futures. Even prospective employers look for employees with good reading skills. Employers need their workers to have the ability to read with understanding; this proves to your prospective bosses that you can understand the instructions you are given for a particular task.
In this final unit, you will review all of the reading strategies that you have implemented over the course, and hopefully, you will take these with you throughout your life.
Following successful completion of this lesson, students will be able to:
- Apply reading comprehension strategies, including making predictions, comparing and contrasting, recalling and summarizing, and making inferences and drawing conclusions.
