Introduction

Cardiovascular endurance refers to the ability of the heart, lungs and blood vessels to deliver oxygen to working muscles and tissues for prolonged periods. This lesson will provide you with basic information on aerobic training, such as the definition of aerobic exercise.

You will also be given information that will help you recognize activities that are aerobic compared to anaerobic.

  • Identify the benefits of cardiovascular endurance.
  • Define cardiovascular endurance.
  • Determine personal target heart rate.
  • Identify appropriate and safe techniques of training for aerobic benefits.
  • Perform a workout with warm-up, cooldown activities, and using correct stretching techniques.
  • Perform a workout for 45 continuous minutes.
