Introduction

Continuing with our unit on Fitness Basics, this lesson will provide you with information on stretching activities that can be used to warm-up at the beginning of your workouts.

Lesson Objectives

Following successful completion of this lesson, students will be able to...

  • Identify appropriate and inappropriate warm-up and flexibility activities.
  • Perform a workout for 45 continuous minutes also using warm-up and cooldown activities.
  • Participate in physical activity daily and use correct stretching techniques.

  • What specialized skills and proper fitness techniques can we learn to be more physically active?
  • How can we safely participate in physical fitness activities?
  • What specialized skills can we learn to help with lifelong fitness (walking, jogging, stretching, dancing, etc.)?
