Introduction

In this unit, you are going to learn all about mealtimes and foods. This unit has a lot of vocabulary but not much grammar. Just remember that fluency in any foreign language does not happen overnight. The more you practice and seek ways to use your new skills, the quicker fluency will come.

This unit also has a collaborative project. You and a group of your classmates will work together to study the country of Germany. Your teacher will place you in a group and create a discussion thread in the discussions for you to work together. Read the full project description for more information: Die Projektbeschreibung.

Following successful completion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • Identify "schnitzel" as common German cuisine.
  • Identify basic geographic features and regions in Germany.
  • Begin a collaborative project with classmates.

The above objectives correspond with the following Alabama Course of Study: Modern Languages Level I Objectives: 6 & 7.
