Introduction
Two verbs that are going to be very helpful to know how to use properly are:
wissen
kennen
They both mean "to know."
Wissen should be used when you want to express a fact or something that you have knowledge about. For example, someone might ask you, „Was weißt du über Deutschland?"What do you know about Germany?
Kennen should be used when you want to express that you are familiar with a person or place. For example, someone might ask you „Kennst du den neuen Schüler?"Do you know the new student?
