Savoir and connaître are irregular verbs that both mean to know; to be familiar with; however, they are not interchangeable. Each is used to suggest a very specific kind of knowledge.

Following are some useful irregular verbs. They are very common and using them will make your French sound more authentic.

The last set of irregular verbs - venir, devenir, revenir - are actually offshoots of one main verb, venir.
While the stem of each will remain the same, the endings of all will change according to the same pattern. Take a look at the conjugation.
venir = to come

Je deviens dentiste.
Below is a list of past participles for the irregular verbs in this unit.
Some use être while others use avoir.
It is recommended that you memorize the être verbs in the MRS. DR VANDERTRAMPP list.
