Introduction

When learning the French alphabet, you will recognize the letters when you see them because the same letters are used in the English alphabet. However, you will pronounce each letter differently. The French language also has five accent marks. These accent marks cannot be omitted, as they can affect the pronunciation, as well as the meaning of the French word.

Download Making Accent Marks in French. You will need it later in this lesson. You may also use the online tool located at Type French Accents to help you type accent marks.
