The medical examiner is called to collect the body along with a Forensic Entomologist to help determine the time of death by using the insects found in and around the body. Photographs are taken and a sketch is created of the crime scene. Once both of these are completed the evidence is collected properly and the chain of custody is kept for each piece of evidence. The handwritten letter is collected and the cast of the tire track is taken and both are sent to the lab. The victim's body is collected by the pathologist and analyzed at the lab.
