Complete the 2.04 Extinction Discussion. Post a response to the following question: is extinction always bad for the ecosystem? Your explanation should be at least 5 sentences long using evidence that you learned in this course.

Imagine that you are a famous children's book author and have been asked by your publisher to create a book about an endangered species in Alabama!

Complete the 2.04 Children's Book Dropbox. Your book should be geared toward 1st or 2nd graders so they can learn more about one specific animal. Remember that children's books have simple text with minimal words per page, and they are always accompanied by pictures or images to help illustrate the message.

Create your children's book in Word, Powerpoint, or another program that you feel comfortable using. You cannot just copy and paste material from the internet! Put everything into your own words, and remember that all outside material and images must be correctly cited. Read MLA Citations - Instructions and Adding Images for more information on Works Cited for outside information and images. Use information you learned in this course as well as the following websites:

Your children's book should have a cover page with a creative title, your name, and your school. The content should be between 8-12 pages long with images and pictures on each page. It should include the following information on your endangered species:

  • The name of the species: introduce your animal - you can give it a fun name, siblings, friends, etc.
  • Where your animal lives (it's range).
  • How many of the species exists.
  • Your animal's source of food.
  • Which organisms depend on your animal for food.
  • The causes of the species endangerment.
  • The efforts being done to help the species.
