Task
After reviewing the poetry terms, go to the website for Anglo-Saxon Riddles and open the 1.02 Anglo-Saxon Riddles assignment. Choose one of the three riddles and find an example of alliteration, caesura, and kenning. When you are finished, submit it to the 1.02 Anglo-Saxon Riddles Dropbox. Epic poetry has been a well-used genre of literature. Research various sites about the epic poem and make a presentation of the characteristics of an epic poem. Your presentation should be in PowerPoint, Prezi, or your choice of presentation. When you have completed your presentation, submit it to the 1.02 Epic Poetry Discussion. Comment on at least one other person’s presentation. You should have a minimum of five slides.

Watch the movie trailer for Dragon Heart, starring Dennis Quaid and the voice of Sean Connery as Draco. It's a great adventure story set in the Anglo-Saxon period that will give you a good look at life in the time period. To obtain the extra credit, list five things you saw in the movie trailer that support what you have learned about the Anglo-Saxon period. Submit your list to the 1.02 Dragon Heart Bonus Dropbox. |
