Do you listen to music? If you listen to music, then you know that many different types of music exist: alternative, blues, classical, country, dance, hip hop, rap, jazz, new age, rock, reggae. This list could go on for a while. Like music, there are many types of writing.

The word genre is another word for type. So, what is your favorite genre of writing? The list is lengthy here as well: horror, autobiography, tragedy, news report, poetry, science, summaries, letters, short stories, fantasy, etc.
