Introduction

A system, or set of rules, is vital for anything in which human beings are involved. When driving a car, you have "rules of the road;" when playing a sport, there are "rules of the game." Even at a formal dinner event, there are "rules of etiquette" to follow to keep everything running smoothly. Rules make life simpler and more pleasant by removing many chances for misunderstanding and by creating order and mutual respect.

There are also rules when using computer networks. Netiquette (which comes from the words "NETwork etIQUETTE") is a set of social conventions that facilitate interaction over networks, ranging from email and instant messaging to blogs and forums.
