Task
Task #1 Pretend that you are having a debate on School Internet Use and Computer Security. On each of the issues below, pick a side, you are either for or against the issue. In a debate, you must abide by the one-sentence rule, which means that you must make your point clear in one sentence only. When the opposing side makes a statement in which you disagree, you may have a one-sentence rebuttal.

Decide which side you are on for each of the four issues listed above. Go to Discussions and post your one sentence initial response to the 3.05 Computer Security Discussion. Then go back and read your classmates' responses. You must respond to at least two other students' statements by either agreeing with a one-sentence statement or a one-sentence rebuttal/disagreement:
When participating in an online discussion, you should use formal, standard English and obey all conventions of punctuation and spelling. You should not use abbreviations or symbols that are common to emailing with friends or texting. Remember, you must post an opinion and two replies for all four of the issues listed above! Task #2 Imagine that over the past few weeks, you have experienced an abundance of pop-up ads appearing when you are using the Internet and have noticed that your computer is working more slowly than usual. In a 200 - 300 word essay, diagnose the problem with your computer and explain what can be done to remedy the issue. In your essay, use information from the lesson to justify your diagnosis and solution. Post your essay in 3.05 Computer Issue Essay Dropbox. |
