Section Three - Part A

En Latinoamérica, a la gente le gusta mucho una gran variedad de frutas. Algunas de esas frutas son frutas que nosotros comemos y otras no son tan conocidas en los Estados Unidos. Aquí, en esta foto, puedes ver que se ofrecen diferentes jugos de frutas. A ver si conoces estas frutas en español:

una guava	un mango
una piña	una papaya

No son frutas muy conocidas aquí. Probablemente te gusta comer las manzanas, las naranjas, las uvas, los plátanos, el melón, ¿no? ¿Has comido estas frutas?

El Proyecto
You are going to do a project about your own past in Spanish. There are several parts to the project, so we are going to begin now. These are the items you are going to find out about this country:

• you will need pictures (real or clip-art) in order to be able to narrate the story of your life up to this point
• include milestones like learning to walk, talk, going to school for the first time, etc.
• include celebrations in your family
• include family trips or vacations and include what you did on those trips
• talk about what you used to like to do at different stages in your development
• talk about what you used to be like and what things you used to have

You will write your project in Spanish, using your own words. Take care not to rely on the aid of a translator of any kind as if you do, it will be very recognizable to your teacher. There may be words that you do not know how to say. You may look up individual words in the dictionary but you should rely on what you have learned in your years of Spanish study to do this.

The project is going to have several deadlines to help you stay focused throughout the unit.

1. Primera fecha indicada: ideas--how you will turn in your project and where you intend to find information--5 puntos
2. Segunda fecha indicada: outline of your project--5 puntos
3. Tercera fecha indicada: rough draft--5 puntos.
4. Cuarta fecha indicada: Proyecto Final--30 puntos

La tercera fecha indicada es ahora. Esta tarea vale 5 puntos.
