Task
Review the project overview if needed.
Go to the Collaborative Project — Coming to Consensus Discussion. As a group, decide on a response to your question. You must take one side or the other - I don't know or I can't decide is not an acceptable response. Your response does not have to match the role you took during the research phase.
-
Post your initial thoughts, including the response you think the group should make.
-
Weigh the evidence clearly and use facts to support your decision.
-
Think about the drawbacks to each side.
As a group, you must come to an agreement about your response. You may also want to discuss any necessary conditions and the strongest evidence or support for your response.
For example, if your question is Should zoos be allowed to create and display extinct cloned animals? you might say yes, as long as the animals are researched in highly controlled habitats for a minimum of five years before being released to less restrictive enclosures. You should then continue your response including supporting factual information from your research and the research of other group members.
You will be graded on your participation in the discussion.
Include your group name in the subject line of your post to make it easier for your other group members to find your post!
