Introduction

From the film you watched as you began this lesson about the disillusionment of the post-World War I period, you can see that discontent about the new world order sparked rebellions across Europe. There were many, but for your study, take a look at Ireland as an example. Ireland wanted independence from Great Britain's control. Across the world, India's native peoples also wanted to have the British leave their country so that they could have Home Rule.

    Examples: 1920s cultural disillusionment, colonial rebellion and turmoil in Ireland and India, attempts to achieve political stability in Europe
