Introduction

In the previous lesson, we learned about some intriguing people who helped to shape our understanding of how our universe works. While people in today's world take for granted the knowledge that the planets revolve around the sun - heliocentric theory - people to the 17th century thought the earth was the center of the universe. There was much more to learn, though.

In this lesson, you will learn about some of the forerunners whose work helped the world to know more about the human body and medicine, plants, machinery and so much more. Although you won't have the opportunity to learn about everyone, we will introduce a few you should know about.
