What is OSHA?
OSHA stands for Occupation, Safety, and Health Administration. It is the governmental agency in charge of setting and enforcing health and safety standards for work conditions. The purpose of OSHA is to protect workers by creating a safe environment. It was established in 1971 and sets standards to make workplaces safer.Examples of OSHA’s requirements:
- Hot water and steam pipes must be covered with insulated material.
- Safety goggles and head gear must be worn in certain places.
