So you want to find a job (that possibly even fits into a step on a career ladder)? It can be intimidating! In today’s economy, there is MUCH competition for jobs. You need to stand out. You need to get past the first step of applying . . . get to the second step of interviewing . . . to the third step of being hired. There are things you can do to accomplish these goals.
If you don’t "toot your own horn," who will? You have to show yourself in the best light possible. Don’t be shy about telling how YOU are the one the company should hire. How do you do this? Well, make your resume appropriate for the job at hand. Study how to interview; practice! Know about the company, and show the interviewer you are the one for the job! You are selling a product—yourself!
Then, when you DO land that job, do the things necessary to KEEP the job. Follow company procedures, work hard, be a model employee, and go the extra mile! Good luck!
