Introduction

If you're like many students, you are excited about graduation day. You're thinking, "Wow, I finally see the end of this school stuff!" In reality, this isn't the END it's just the BEGINNING of your education. You are now going to experience LIFE! One of the things you will learn is that to survive in life you will need income.

To have income, you must have a career or job. What do you think is the difference between a career and a job? If you had to choose whether you wanted to have a career or a job, which would you choose? Since your career or job will consume much of your time, you should enjoy it. (Note: it won't ALWAYS be enjoyable because it's WORK, but you should receive SOME satisfaction from your work.

We have all been given certain traits, abilities, and preferences. Think about the friends and family around you that work for a living.

  • What do they do?
  • Is their work enjoyable to them?
  • Are they using their gifts and talents?
  • When choosing a line of work, it's very important to keep these things in mind.

So . . . let's begin learning about the differences between a career and a job.
